Corporate Ownership and Control journal became fully open access

On September 5, 2018, publishing house "Virtus Interpress" and editorial team of “Corporate Ownership and Control” transferred the journal to the complete Open Access model.

This means that starting with the next issue all papers will be published only with the immediate Open Access option. The journal will be available for the readers starting with the moment of their online publication for free.

Compared to previously existing delayed open access model, which was available in the journal, papers published in immediate open access proved to be more citable. More than a half of the papers were published in immediate open access in the course of previous years in our journal as it was the choice of authors of the papers. Publishing House "Virtus Interpress" follows the latest developments in European and world regulations regarding the expectations of the research communities and funding agencies that research papers should be published in Open Access and available for readers immediately after its publication and for free.

This step will help even further to increase the visibility of the papers published in “Corporate Ownership and Control” journal and increase their academic impact and level of citation. During 2017-2018 referring to Google Scholar citation of papers published in Corporate Ownership and Control journal increased remarkably and we expect to accelerate the citation growth even more after transferring to full open access.

One more step made by our team to increase the visibility of published works is creating Virtus Scholar, a content browsing platform, that provides our readers with a helpful tool that makes the information search process easier and more efficient.
