A new book "Corporate Board practices in a transition economy"

A new research project of the Publisher – a book titled "Corporate Board practices in a transition economy", is devoted to the practices of the corporate board in economies where corporate governance is still in transition to the best standards of corporate governance widely accepted in developed countries. The most important corporate board practices thoroughly explored in this research are board committees, board size and composition, independent directors, director remuneration, director election, board meetings, etc.

The research is conducted in several stages that will be written consequently in the book. The first stage is the theory of the corporate boards, the main tradeoffs. The second stage is the corporate board practices in developed countries. The short essays will appear on each of developed countries (7-8 pages) within those board practices which are considered for the transition economy. The last stage of research is the board practices in a transition economy. This will give the reading audience an excellent chance to compare board practices worldwide and conclude on the differences between board practices in developed and transition economies.

The research is headed by Assistant Professor Alexander N. Kostyuk. The research will be finished by March 1, 2006. The book will be published by August 1, 2006. Approximate volume of the book is 220 pages. All who are interested in ordering the book or asking for more information about the next investigations by the Publisher team in the field of corporate boards should contact Alexander N. Kostyuk at contacts page.
