THE SECOND ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CORPORATE GOVERNANCE & REGULATION IN BANKS

International Centre for Banking and Corporate Governance, Ukrainian Academy of Banking, in cooperation with international referred journals “Corporate Ownership and Control” and “Banks and Banking Systems” initiate holding the second annual international conference on corporate governance & regulation in banks. This conference appeals to academics, policy makers and business professionals. The conference provides a forum in which delegates can interact and network, with the topic areas being at the forefront of corporate governance developments in an international context.

The first conference in December 6 – December 10, 2010 will be held online. Language of the conference – English.

You are invited to submit a paper on:
• Corporate governance in banks;
• Anti-crisis corporate governance issues in banks;
• Banking regulation;
• Banking reforms in crisis;
• The state programs of the bank recovering;
• Bank recapitalization;
• Board of directors in banks;
• Bank director remuneration;
• Internal control in banks;
• Bank ownership;
• Corporate social responsibility in banks;
• Financial reporting and disclosure in banks;
• Stock market and banks;
• Bank shareholders’ rights;
• State financial support of the banks: an international review.

Contributors are invited to submit their papers and theses (volume – 2000-6000 words).
Deadline for submission: November 15, 2010.

We will notify the contributors of accepted papers by November 30, 2010.
All accepted papers will be placed at the conference web-site by December 2, 2010.

Date of conference – December 6-December 10, 2010.

The conference discussion forum will be with participation of representatives of central banks, Fed Reserve Banks of the USA, Association of British Bankers, National bank of Ukraine, etc. Besides, researchers from more than 40 countries of the world are expected to participate. We expect to see more than 120 participants.

We invite all conference participants and visitors to enter the conference web-site http://corpgov.academy.sumy.ua to read the papers submitted at the first conference held in May 2010.
We will notify by November 10, 2010 all interested parties of the web address of the second conference.

After November 10, 2010 all interesting experts could register either as paper authors or as discussants. The conference forum will be active from December 6, 2010.

Please, note that there is no registration fee to participate in the conference.

All accepted papers will be published in the Conference Review published by Ukrainian Academy of Banking. It will be published by January 30, 2011. We expect to publish 35 papers.

Besides that authors of accepted papers are free to choose one of the following leaflets for their papers (special conference issues):
1. Corporate Ownership and Control journal – a referred journal (http://www.virtusinterpress.org)
2. Banks and Banking Systems – a referred journal (http://www.businessperspectives.org)
