THE FIRST ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CORPORATE GOVERNANCE IN BANKS

MAY 27-31, 2010

International Centre for Banking and Corporate Governance, Ukrainian Academy of Banking, Publishing houses “Virtus Interpress” and “Business Perspectives” initiate holding an annual international conference on corporate governance in banks. This conference appeals to academics, policy makers and business professionals. The conference provides a forum in which delegates can interact and network, with the topic areas being at the forefront of corporate governance developments in an international context.

The first conference in May 2010 will be held online. Language of the conference – English.

You are invited to submit a paper on:

• Corporate governance in banks;
• Anti-crisis corporate governance issues in banks;
• Banking regulation;
• Board of directors in banks;
• Bank director remuneration;
• Internal control in banks;
• Bank ownership;
• Financial reporting and disclosure in banks;
• Stock market and banks;
• Bank shareholders’ rights;
• State financial support of the banks.

Contributors are invited to submit their papers and theses (volume – 2000-6000 words).
Deadline for submission: April 25, 2010.
We will notify the contributors of accepted papers by May 10, 2010.
All accepted papers will be placed at the conference web-site by May 15, 2010.
Date of conference – May 27-31, 2010.

We will invite all conference participants and visitors to enter the conference web-site www.academy.sumy.ua (to get launched by April 30) to read the papers and register for further discussions of the most interesting issues of the papers accepted. Conference will continue during two days.

Authors of accepted paper will be recommended to choose one of the following leaflets for their conference papers:

1. Corporate Ownership and Control journal – a referred journal (www.virtusinterpress.org)
2. Banks and Banking Systems – a referred journal (www.businessperspectives.org)
3. Conference Review published by Ukrainian Academy of Banking.

Please, when submitting your paper for participation in the conference, indicate, in what publication you would like to see your paper published after the conference.
