CALL FOR PAPERS

2008 International Conference on
Corporate Governance and Financial Integration
Taipei, Taiwan, May 16, 2008

Conference Objective: The Conference features academic sessions and public policy forums. The Conference aims at promoting high-quality research on corporate governance and financial integration mainly.

Organizers: Center for Corporate Governance and Ethics at Fu-Jen Catholic University, Taiwan; Academy of Banking and Finance; College of Management at Chang-Gung University, Taiwan.

Keynote Speakers: Prof. Randall Morck (University of Alberta), Prof. William Q. Judge (University of Old Dominion University), Prof. T. J. Wong and Prof. Joseph P. H. Fan (The Chinese University of Hong Kong).

Topics: The Conference focuses on frontier theoretical and empirical works. Relevant topics include, but are not limited to the following list: Ownership Structure, Board of Directors, Impacts on Corporate Governance by Private Equity & Shareholder Activism, Succession for Family Firms, Transparency & Accounting Quality, Governance Issues for the Integration of Capital Markets & Financial Intuitions, Corporate Social Responsibility, and etc.

Awards and Publication: There will be two $2,000 (USD) competitive research awards in this year. We may invite the selected papers for publication in the Corporate Ownership and Control, Journal of Management (TSSCI), and Taiwan Banking & Finance Quarterly.

Electronic Submission: Papers written in English must be submitted via email to trad1003@mail.fju.edu.tw with a subject “2008 conference paper submission” by March 21, 2008, using MS Word or Adobe PDF file format. The submitted papers will be reviewed for selection by the review committee in a double-blind referee process. The result will be notified via email by April 15, 2008.

Paper Style: All papers must be accompanied by an abstract of a maximum of 500 words. The cover page of the paper should contain the paper title, the author’s name, affiliation, address, phone number and email address.
